Risk Management Office Visit
The purpose of the risk management office visit is to assess your specific exposures related to patient safety and non-clinical areas of practice. Many exposures have been identified as having legal significance that can either lead to a medical malpractice claim or affect the course of litigation. A 2% premium credit may be granted for your office visit from our risk management professional. The credit may be applied at the time of your policy renewal date and will be effective for 2 years.
Our risk management professional will review specific areas such as patient information and tracking systems, quality and completeness of medical records, and patient-physician communication systems to identify risk exposure, educate your staff on how to reduce the risk exposure, and provide risk management tools to assist you in updating or enhancing exiting processes.
Why should I request an office visit?
How does it work?
Our risk management professional will spend approximately 3-4 hours with you and your staff reviewing your communication systems, policies and documentation practices, as well as the clinical environment. At the conclusion of the visit, our risk management professional will spend time with you and your staff to discuss the findings. A risk assessment report will be mailed to you that can be used as an efficient method to document and track follow up to identified risks and your corrective action. The report is user and reader friendly and can be sent electronically if you choose.
Our recommendations should be used as a tool to assist you in defining your risk reduction opportunities. Our recommendations are not intended to be a substitute for medical professional judgment nor are they intended as a substitute for any legal opinion or conclusion.
